Mission.

We want to build software that has the greatest possible positive impact on society. Motran was founded in the Netherlands, a country that is ageing fast right now. The number of older people is growing quickly and the demand for care grows with it, while the group of people who work barely increases anymore.

From that follows a clear task. For every retiree there are fewer and fewer working hands. With roughly the same number of people we therefore have to get more done, simply to keep our prosperity and the things we value, such as good healthcare and good education, at the same level. And this task is not unique to the Netherlands; many countries face exactly the same pressure.

Doing more with the same number of people means every person has to become more productive. And that is precisely where AI has reached a point where it can genuinely make a difference. For the first time a computer can do much of the everyday work that until now had to be done by hand.

At the same time, AI still makes many people hesitant, and that is understandable. But history is encouraging. Every major technology that came before it, from the steam engine to the computer, ultimately made us more productive and more prosperous, and gave people room for work that matters more. Now that the workforce is not keeping up with an ageing population, that is not a threat but exactly what we need: work that can be taken over, so the people who are here spend their time on what only a human can do.

And yet, at most companies, that possibility is still standing still. Not because the technology falls short, because it is already here. The real work is in the building: making AI work together with the systems and data a company already has, giving it responsibility step by step, and making it reliable enough that an organisation can run on it every day. Most organisations are not ready for that yet, and that is the difference between a nice demo and work that actually gets done.

That is what Motran is for. We do not advise from the sidelines, we build alongside you. We put working AI right in the middle of our clients' daily practice and stay beside it until it does what it needs to do. That way we give people their time back, for the work where a human makes the difference. And an ageing country needs exactly that: a business sector that can do more with the same people, so our prosperity stays on track and there is room for what we value.
