What is Neon?
Neon is a serverless PostgreSQL database that automatically scales based on usage and supports database branching. It combines the reliability of PostgreSQL with modern serverless architecture, so you only pay for what you use. Database branching makes it possible to have a separate database copy for each feature branch.
How Motran uses Neon.
Motran uses Neon for web applications and AI applications with variable workloads. The serverless architecture means databases automatically scale up during peak loads and scale down during quiet periods. We leverage database branching to safely test new features without affecting production data.
Sector benefits.
Neon is particularly suited for the financial sector where query patterns vary strongly throughout the day, the retail sector with seasonal peaks in database load, and healthcare where applications must flexibly scale with fluctuating demand.
