What is AI project planning?
Construction projects are complex: multiple crews, subcontractors, material delivery times and weather dependency. Traditional planning is static and outdated as soon as the first disruption occurs. According to McKinsey, 77% of construction projects run over schedule with an average 20% overrun.
AI project planning combines project data, personnel availability, weather forecasts and historical patterns to dynamically adjust the schedule and detect delays early.
How does it work?
The system monitors progress per project and continuously compares it with the schedule. When a delay occurs (or threatens to occur), AI calculates the impact on the total project and proposes rescheduling. Weather forecasts are taken into account for outdoor work.
Subcontractors and suppliers are automatically informed when the schedule changes. The system takes dependencies into account: if the brickwork is delayed, subsequent activities are automatically shifted.
What does it deliver?
Contractors report 30% fewer schedule overruns, faster rescheduling when disruptions occur and better communication with subcontractors and clients. The financial impact is direct: fewer delay costs and better capacity utilisation.
