Why AI on top of SAP?
SAP is the gold standard for enterprise resource planning. But particularly with SAP we see that the processes around the system — document processing, data entry, reporting — place an enormous burden on organisations. The larger the organisation, the more manual work grows around it.
A migration to S/4HANA is for many companies a multi-million project that takes years. An AI layer delivers the same process improvements for a fraction of the investment, without touching your existing SAP landscape.
How does the connection work?
We connect via the official SAP interfaces: OData services for modern API integration, IDocs for transactional messages, and where available SAP BTP for event-driven scenarios. The choice depends on your SAP version and configuration.
A practical example: supplier invoices arrive by email. AI reads the invoice, extracts all relevant fields, finds the matching purchase order and goods receipt in SAP, performs the 3-way match and posts the invoice — or escalates to your AP team on discrepancies. Including full SAP documentation and audit trail.
Which organisations is this suitable for?
This approach is particularly valuable for larger SME companies and mid-market organisations using SAP that are looking at the costs and complexity of an S/4HANA migration. Typically you process thousands of transactions per month and have teams spending substantial time on SAP-related data entry.
Organisations that have recently completed a SAP implementation and find that the promised efficiency gains have not materialised also benefit greatly. The AI layer addresses exactly the 'last mile' that SAP implementations often leave unanswered.
How we connect.
SAP OData & REST API
Connection via SAP OData services and REST APIs. We read and write directly in SAP modules for finance, MM, SD and PP.
IDoc interface
For transactional data we use SAP IDocs — the standard message format for reliable data exchange with external systems.
SAP BTP integration
Where available we leverage the SAP Business Technology Platform for advanced integration scenarios and event-driven architecture.
